The unintended consequences of a bill to impose a performance fee on radio stations could be less music airplay as stations are forced to switch formats because they can’t afford the additional costs, according to this article. This could wind up hurting artists. “Radio is still where people find their new music,” said Brent Moran, bassist for Denver band Yerkish.
